Although her daughter had a private autism diagnosis, she did not yet have an Individualized Education Program (IEP). Tasha, familiar with RSK through her behavioral health work, called for the first time for her own family’s needs.

After a conversation about options, the RSK staff member mentioned an open position. Tasha applied and joined the Positive Family Coaching program in May 2024.

Tasha and her husband have 3 children, a son and daughter who are both 9 years old, and a 7-year-old daughter. They fostered and adopted their son when he was 5. “Once I started navigating the system for him, I learned so much,” Tasha said. This sparked her passion for behavioral health support and shifted her career path.

Tasha began her career in the medical lab field after earning an associate degree from Mesa Community College. She later earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in family and human development from Arizona State University.

Before joining RSK, Tasha worked at Red Mountain Behavioral Health as a family support specialist serving the Gila River Indian Community. She coached families on children’s behavior concerns and how to work within education and healthcare systems. When the program faced cuts, Tasha applied to RSK.

In her current position, Tasha educates families on children’s needs, options, and resources. “I’ve always been passionate about helping parents understand their kids’ behaviors,” she said. Her work often involves guiding parents through diagnoses or past trauma underlying behavior challenges.

Tasha and her family live in Gilbert, where they enjoy hiking, swimming, and supporting her son’s competitive football team. She also enjoys home renovation projects, including woodworking, and has built her home’s kitchen table, sofa tables, and desk.

Tasha turned
